Talk Normal were one of the more underrated acts in NYC noise rock, but they've been inactive for a while and Andrya Ambro has instead been busy with her project Gold Dime, who share some traits with Talk Normal but very much do their own thing too. The band has a revolving door of collaborators, and their upcoming album My House was made with Ian Douglas-Moore on bass and John Bohannon (Ancient Ocean) on guitar. Andrya produced it herself, and it was recorded/mixed by Ernie Indradat. It comes out October 11 via Fire Talk (pre-order).

We're premiering the new song "Hindsight II," along with its Joe Wakeman-directed, black-and-white video that hearkens back to the silent film era, and which is as surreal and unpredictable as the song itself. Andrya tells us:

Sometimes we better understand the past if we just talk to it. So this is just the rhetorical me talking to the past through Hindsight personified. Also I think I had The Velvet Underground’s “Hey Mr. Rain” rattling around in my head when this all went down. There is a “Hindsight” first edition on Gold Dime’s debut album Nerves. It’s basically the haiku version of “Hindsight II,” only on piano and much more austere.

Listen and watch the video below. Album art and tracklist below too.

Gold Dime is also touring, including a hometown record release show on October 9 at Alphaville with Baltimore's Wume and NYC locals P.E., a new collaborative project from members of Pill and Eaters. All dates are listed below.
