Gorillaz are in NYC for a headlining spot at The Meadows on Saturday (9/16). While they're here, they're hosting a pop up shop in Willamsburg, "G Foot," with merch curated by Jamie Hewlett, including an exclusive Gorillaz New York shirt. The band also used their time in town to get a little practice in before their Meadows set, playing a secret rehearsal show on Thursday (9/14) afternoon in a Manhattan studio space. The Humanz release show Gorillaz played at Rough Trade back in April was in intimate one for the band, but this one was tiny, with around 20 fans in attendance.

The Gorillaz app started giving notifications to take quizzes centered around Noodle, Murdoc, and the rest of Gorillaz over the past few days to gain entry to the show. The lucky few winners were then contacted by phone with more details. According to reports from attendees, the setlist contained some surprises they didn't want to spoil, along with Humanz songs like "Strobelite," "Saturnz Barz," "Andromeda," "Busted & Blue," "Let Me Out," "Sex Murder Party," and "We Got The Power," as well as "Garage Palace," a previously unreleased Little Simz collaboration that appeared as a bonus track in the Humanz vinyl box set. Check out a few pictures fans took with Damon Albarn at the show below.

Humanz guest and Savages frontwoman Jehnny Beth is in NYC (she took in a Dead Cross show) and will be joining Gorillaz on tour, starting with their Meadows set on Saturday.
