Florida hardcore band Gouge Away recently released lead single “Only Friend” off their sophomore album (and first for Deathwish) Burnt Sugar, which was co-produced by Touche Amore vocalist Jeremy Bolm and mixed and mastered by Jack Shirley. Now they released a second single, “Ghost,” which sounds a little more like the band whose song they’re named after, but it’s still got Christina Michelle’s screams sounding ferocious as ever. It’s good stuff, and it shows that Gouge Away can not be pinned down as just another hardcore band. Listen below.

Gouge Away also have tons of upcoming tour dates, including one run with Culture Abuse and another with Drug Church (both very cool pairings).

The run with Culture Abuse includes a Thrasher Death Match party in Queens on October 6 (venue TBA) and Long Island show at Amityville Music Hall on October 12. The latter has Long Island locals Somerset Thrower, plus The Fight, and tickets go on sale Friday (8/31) at 10 AM.

The dates with Drug Church include a Brooklyn show at Alphaville on November 28, and that’s part of a run that has Seattle’s New Gods on the bill too (tickets). All dates are listed below.

Culture Abuse released their excellent new album Bay Dream earlier this year on Epitaph. Drug Church are releasing a new LP, Cheer, on November 2 via Pure Noise, and you can hear the ripping lead single “Avoidarama” from that below.
