Governors Ball has not announced the lineup for its 2020 edition yet, but it has started dropping clues. The first is a short video of NYC's Broadway Theater which has led some to believe it could mean DaBaby (the "BOP on Broadway" viral video). Others think it could be Gorillaz (The Broadway is where the King Kong musical was staged), or Green Day (because of the American Idiot Broadway musical). What do you think? You can watch the video below.
UPDATE 12/3: The second clue, a video of the Astor Place Cube, is here; see it below. Some guesses we've seen include St. Vincent, deadmau5, and Squarepusher - what do you think?
UPDATE 12/4: For clue three, a video clip shows the PATH train at 9th Street station - watch it below. Who do you think it could refer to?
UPDATE 12/5: Clue four, which you can watch below, shows a package being placed in a mail box.
UPDATE 12/6: There's a food truck and a NYU hat-wearing customer in clue five, which you can watch below. Maggie Rogers?
UPDATE 12/9: The weekend is over and clues six, seven, and eight are here; watch them below.
UPDATE 12/11: The ninth and final clue, which shows a plane flying over the JW Marriott Essex House, is here; watch it, and the other eight, below.
GovBall will be sharing clues daily through December 11. Meanwhile, tickets for the 2020 edition are on holiday presale now through December 31 at 11:59 PM, at the lowest prices they'll be.
Governors Ball 2020 happens June 5-7 on Randall's Island in NYC. The festival recently announced VIP and site upgrades, as well as a new age policy.
