Grace VanderWaal

Grace VanderWaal playing Seaport tree lighting, releasing EP

The 33rd annual Tree Lighting at NYC’s South Street Seaport happens on November 29, and this year one of the two musical guests will be Grace VanderWaal, the 12-year-old with the crazy-good voice from America’s Got Talent (who’s also playing Cyndi Lauper’s holiday show with Billy Corgan, Sharon Van Etten, and others). The other musical guest is Vy Higginsen’s Gospel Choir of Harlem. The tree lighting is held on the Fulton Street cobblestones and starts at 6:30 PM (more info here). Past Seaport tree lighting performers have included Darlene Love, Ronnie Spector, Lesley Gore and Nicole Atkins.

A few days before that, Grace plays the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, where’ll sing “I Don’t Know My Name,” the song she played on AGT, which is now the lead single off her upcoming EP Perfectly Imperfect, which drops December 2 via Columbia Records and SYCO Entertainment (the label founded by AGT judge Simon Cowell, who called her “the next Taylor Swift”). You can listen to the studio recording of the song below.

Meanwhile, Grace isn’t the only “Taylor Swift experience” you can have at the South Street Seaport this winter…

This winter the Seaport is home to The Taylor Swift ExperienceTM, a special exhibit at 19 Fulton Street curated by the GRAMMY Museum® at L.A. LIVE that gives fans an in-depth look at the multi-platinum-selling artist as a singer, musician, songwriter, and producer through personal photographs and home videos, interactive experiences, handwritten lyrics of Taylor’s top-charting hits, and iconic performance outfits.

Maybe Taylor herself will show up to Grace’s performance…
