They went on around about 11 pm, and the crowd was noisy for them, singing along, shouting “louder!” and “Graveyard!” among other things. The smell of sweet green smoke was in the air, and cups of beer were in everyone’s hands… Anyway, Graveyard killed, but unlike that sticker on the album, I found them to be more a mixture of Blue Cheer-MC5-Deep Purple-Jimi Hendrix-with Bill Ward on drums. I dug the set, and am glad I picked up the album. Actually going to listen to it now.

Graveyard kicked off a string of US dates with Radio Moscow on Thursday (1/12) at Bowery Ballroom. The show, which also featured support from Daniel Davies, was one of several rescheduled dates that were cancelled due to visa issues in the tail end of 2011. The Swedes are touring in support of their latest LP Hisingsen Blues, which made Decibel’s Top 40 of 2011.
