Due to serious illness, Gregg Allman has been forced to cancel a string of upcoming shows, beginning with his appearance at Scranton, PA's Peach Music Festival on August 12 and stretching until the Clearwater, FL Jazz Festival on October 16. Allman, who in previous months had been touring across the US and hosting his Laid Back festivals, is reportedly under a doctor's care at the Mayo Clinic. (It's also not the first time this tour ran into trouble.) The following statement was posted to his Facebook:

"I want to thank my fans and friends for supporting me while I rest up and focus on getting better and back on the road as soon as I can. I've been working hard with my band, my pride and joy, to play our music for everyone. We'll see y'all in October." - Gregg

Allman's tour is expected to resume with one of his Laid Back festivals on October 29 in Atlanta. He has other dates scheduled after that, including a 10-night run at NYC's City Winery from November 6-18. Tickets are on VinoFile presale now, and the general on-sale begins Thursday (8/11).

He was last in the NYC-area for one of his Laid Back festivals at Jones Beach in July with Jason Isbell and others. Updated dates are listed, with a video from that show, below.
