Grimes breaks down the meaning of baby X Æ A-12 Musk's name

Grimes and Elon Musk welcomed a new baby boy on Monday night, and yesterday Elon shared the news, showing off a couple of pictures of their new arrival and saying that his name is “X Æ A-12 Musk.” It appears that wasn’t a joke, and while we still aren’t sure how to pronounce the name, Grimes has broken down its meaning in a tweet of her own:

•X, the unknown variable
•Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence)
•A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent
+
(A=Archangel, my favorite song)
(⚔️🐁 metal rat)

UPDATE: here’s how to pronounce the name. It may not be legal in California, though.

Elon chimed in to correct her on the aircraft name, writing, “SR-71, but yes,” and Grimes replied, “I am recovering from surgery and barely alive so may my typos b forgiven but, damnit. That was meant to be profound.” You tell him, Grimes!

Replying to a twitter user who said, “you realize this is a human child and not an EP right,” Grimes replied, “I think it sounds like the name of the main character in the story. I hope he vibes with that. Ok, going back into the pain/ beauty reverie for sum time, just came on to add my thoughts. Peace to all.”

Elon adds that baby X (he needs a nickname, right?) is “Happy, healthy & cute as a button :)”
