Grinderman

Onstage at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square on Sunday, in a powerfully loose performance, [Nick Cave] sang "Heathen Child," from [Grinderman's] new record, "Grinderman 2" (Anti-). "She don't care about Buddha!" he called out. "She is the Buddha!" And later, in "Evil!": "Who needs the TV? You are my TV!/ Who needs the record player? You are my record player!"

As he sang, he battered his guitar. Mr. Cave doesn't play much guitar; it's plain to see that the instrument is foreign to him. But he plays it in Grinderman, and it sounds like a car being cut in half. -[New York Times]

Nick Cave and the boys in Grinderman headlined a sold out show in NYC on Sunday night, 11/14, bringing their gothy blues to the masses and showcasing their new LP Grinderman 2 out now via ANTI-. Theremin artist Armen-Ra was the opener..

Last night, one night later, Grinderman appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon (a show that will have Bruce Springsteen on it tonight). After the taping, Nick Cave was spotted hanging at the Delancey. Not sure if they have a TV he could have watched it on. You can watch the episode in an embedded video below.

Grinderman's US tour continues tonight in Washington DC at the 9:30 Club. More Pictures from Best Buy (formerly Nokia) Theater, videos and the Grinderman setlist, below...
