Grizzly Bear played an intimate release show at Public Arts (pics, setlist)

Grizzly Bear celebrated the release of Painted Ruins with an intimate show at Public Arts on Wednesday (8/23) night. The band’s equipment took up every bit of space on the small room’s stage, and the floor and balcony were packed with fans, including someone front and center with a bouquet of flowers for Ed Droste. Wednesday night’s setlist focused on the new album, but also included songs from Shields, Veckatimest, and one from their 2004 debut Horn of Plenty. See pictures from Wednesday night’s show in the gallery above, and the setlist below.

Grizzly Bear go on a full tour in support of Painted Ruins this fall; they start overseas and return to North America in November for a run of shows with serpentwithfeet, including three nights at Brooklyn Steel in NYC. Two nights are sold out, but tickets are on sale for the November 4 show.
