Grizzly Bear's Daniel Rossen & Christopher Bear team with The National for Grateful Dead's "Terrapin Station"

Five covers from the upcoming 59-song Grateful Dead tribute album were already released, and now a sixth is here. This one has Grizzly Bear members Daniel Rossen and Christopher Bear teaming up with The National (whose Dessner brothers curated the compilation) for a take on “Terrapin Station.” The song also features Josh Kaufman, Conrad Doucette, So Percussion, and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. Like most of the others we’ve heard so far, the song taps into the Dead’s very specific style, but Rossen doesn’t stray much from the way he sings in Grizzly Bear (the peculiar hop of Christopher Bear’s drumming is here too). They also put a great spin on the orchestral parts towards the end. You’re bound to like it if you’re a fan of either band, and especially if you’re a fan of both. Listen below.

Phil Lesh and Dead & Company both have tours coming up.
