Half Waif (aka Nandi Rose Plunkett) signed to Cascine last year for her very solid form/a EP, and now she is set to release her first full-length for the label. It's called Lavender, named for the lavender that Nandi's grandmother Asha "would pluck from her garden and boil in a pot on the stove." Her grandmother was alive while Nandi wrote and recorded the album, but she sadly passed away in September. "It was obvious her life -- after 95 years -- was drawing to a close. As a result, themes of aging and collapse are all over this album," Nandi said. The album was co-produced by David Tolomei (whose credits include Dirty Projectors, Torres, Daughter, Beach House, and more), and it comes out on April 27 (pre-order).

The first single is "Keep It Out," a fantastic, intricately layered dose of electronic art pop with some Kate Bush vibes. It's got a video directed by Celina Carney that stars Nandi in a bare room alongside some artful dancers. Watch/listen below.

Half Waif is on tour now in Europe/UK with Iron & Wine, and after that she's playing US shows with Mitski. All dates are listed below.
