Half Waif releasing ‘Probable Depths’ (stream it), touring with Pinegrove & others
Nandi Rose Plunkett's Brooklyn art pop project Half Waif are following their 2014 debut KOTEKAN with their sophomore album Probable Depths this Friday (5/6) via DZ Tapes (pre-order). We're premiering a full stream of the album, and if you're at all a fan of the type of pop artists that have a foot in the modern classical world, you should check this out. "Nest" has more than a few hints of Julia Holter, while most of the album is up a more similar alley to My Brightest Diamond/early Sufjan/etc. The whole eight-song thing is a great listen, and you can dig in below.
Half Waif have tour dates coming up in support of the album too, including a few in and around their hometown. There's a release show on May 12 at Baby's All Right with Zula, TIGUE and Twig Twig (tickets); a Palisades (5/25) show later in the month with Tiny Hazard, Twist and JOBS (tickets); and they open part of Pinegrove's tour, including the Jersey City show on August 5 at WFMU Monty Hall with Sports and Forth Wanderers (tickets).
