Soulful garage rocker Hanni El Khatib has teamed with Chicano Batman associate Rudy De Anda for two collaborations, the new original song "Plastered Beach" and a cover of John Lennon's "Jealous Guy." "Plastered Beach" also features Kelsey Gonzalez of Anderson .Paak's band The Free Nationals on bass. "Plastered Beach" is the kind of funky, off-kilter song you might expect from Hanni El Khatib, with a heavy dose of vocal manipulation making things extra weird. Their psychedelic take on "Jealous Guy" is cut from a similar cloth, and it does the original justice while still shaking things up. We're premiering both songs in this post -- check them out below (and if you're not familiar with Hanni or Rudy but you dig stuff like UMO and Tame Impala, you probably wanna hear these).

According to a press release, Hanni "has been busy in the studio working on several forthcoming projects," so maybe we'll be getting info on a new album soon. He also co-produced Pinky Pinky's debut album, which is due later this year.
