Happy Hanukkah! | Latkelicious MP3s from the Klezmatics

Wednesday night (Dec 13, 2006) I saw the Wainwright Family Christmas concert at Carnegie Hall. Rufus said they’d gotten complaints that there were no Hanukkah songs in last year’s show, so they tried to find one for this year. His findings: “There are no good Hanukkah songs”. To compensate, he/they sang a non-Hanukkah song in Hebrew (I can’t remember the name).

I agree – there are no good Hanukkah songs, but there are funny ones. Luckily there are people like the Klezmatics trying to remedy the situation. Here are two tracks off their new album “Woody Guthrie’s Happy Joyous Hanukah“.
