In Twin Peaks fandom, February 24 is "Twin Peaks Day," marking the day on the show when FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper came to the Pacific Northwest town Twin Peaks to investigate the murder of Laura Palmer. In celebration, as well as continued hype of the show's long-awaited return, Showtime has released two official posters -- one with the classic image of Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) and one of a modern day Agent Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan). Both feature one of the show's most famous, most ominous lines: "It is happening again." There are also a couple of "key art tease" videos they've released as well, and you can watch those, along with a few other recent new-plot-free teasers, below. You can buy them, along with some other cool merch (Red Room pillows and socks, a Double R mug) at Showtime's Twin Peaks store.

Twin Peaks returns May 21 on Showtime at 9 PM with two back-to-back episodes. Folks with Showtime Anytime and On Demand subscribers can the immediately watch the next two episodes. There are 18 episodes total, all directed by David Lynch, who cowrote with Mark Frost.

If you're going to be in Austin for SXSW, you'll want to stop by the Twin Peaks-themed Showtime House for cool mementos, cool bands (Real Estate, Neko Case & more), an appearance by Kyle McLachlan, and a recreation of the Double R Diner that serves free pie, coffee and doughnuts.
