hardcore veterans Flag of Democracy, Ugly Americans, Toe Tag (ex-The Accused) & more on new split 7" (stream it)
Philly hardcore vets Flag of Democracy have been having a pretty active 2015. They reissued a bunch of albums, and then released a new split with their old pals Dead Milkmen (that they pretended was recorded in 1985). Now they’ve got two more new tracks on a 5-way split 7″ that Tsuguri Records is putting out in January. It’s part three of their Transcendental Maggot’s Revenge series.
The split also includes another veteran hardcore band, North Carolina’s Ugly Americans (whose singer Simon Bob Sinister was also briefly in Corrosion of Conformity, singing on their 1987 EP, Technocracy). Their song “Pony Picture,” which was originally on their 2014 reunion EP Panopticon, appears here. And other veterans appear in Toe Tag, the new-ish band of vocalist Blaine Cook and bassist Alex “Maggot Brain” Sibbald from ’80s-era Oak Harbor, WA crossover thrash band The Accused.
