La La Land director Damien Chazelle has made his television debut with the Parisian jazz-themed drama The Eddy, which released its first season in full on Netflix today. Netflix also released the classic ballroom vocal jazz-style soundtrack for the show, which was written by Glen Ballard (who produced Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill, co-wrote songs for Michael Jackson, and more) and Randy Kerber (who also worked on La La Land) and features a few alternate versions of songs with guest lead vocals by cool modern musicians, including St. Vincent and Jorja Smith. Jorja's "Kiss Me In The Morning" came out last week, and St. Vincent's "The Eddy" came out today. It should come as no surprise that St. Vincent can pull off this style well (she already has a full album of piano ballads), and "The Eddy" is a pretty great song. Listen below, and if you want to hear it in the context of the show, head to Netflix.
