Dinosaur Jr at Terminal 5, 2011 (more by Tamara Porras)
J. Mascis

Prepare for a triple dose of J. Mascis this weekend. First up, Dinosaur Jr. play twice on Friday (6/7): first at Governors Ball and then one of the fest's official afterparties happening at  Irving Plaza that night. Blown-out bluesman Reignwolf opens the show (and also plays Govs Ball) and you can check him out in a video below. Tickets are still available for Dinosaur Jr., but you can try your hand at winning some, we've got three pair to give away. Details are below. Good luck!

Then on Saturday afternoon (6/8) at Union Pool, Mascis plays again with one of his other bands, the instrumental, psychedelic blues-jamming Heavy Blanket. You can find out just how heavy a blanket can be by streaming a couple tracks below.

The show is part of the BrooklynVegan-presented edition of the venue's free Summer Thunder series (that kicked off last week) and the show also features Love As Laughter. The fun starts at 2 PM and, again, it's free.

Invisible Oranges is also proud to sponsor a Summer Thunder event on June 15th with Inter Arma and Pyrrhon.
