With the coronavirus pandemic keeping many of us home a lot more, we've been asking artists about the music they've been listening to in isolation, and this list comes from Goatwhore drummer Zack Simmons. He made a list of five albums he's been into lately, including a mix of classics, newer stuff, and newer stuff by classic bands. Check out his list:

1. Motorpsycho - The Tower

I was recently turned onto this killer band from Norway by Anders Odden [of Cadaver, Satyricon, and more]. They have a newer record out but I started digging into this one first. Proggy/psychedelic journey rock that you can just tune out to. Not always my cup of tea but this band does it very well.

2. Judas Priest - Firepower

The Priest nailed it with this one and I instantly equated it with their classic albums. Always in the rotation with the many other Priest essentials.

3. Vitriol - To Bathe From The Throat Of Cowardice

Expertly executed, super pissed off death metal. Technical ability, groove, grit, and unrelentingly pure aggression.

4. Motorhead - Bastards

Motorhead is in constant rotation for me but this record has been fueling my workouts and cycling during this mundane period. If “Burner” doesn’t make you get up off your ass, what will?

5. Fluids - Ignorance Exalted

Here’s another workout go-to from my hometown Phoenix brethren. Nasty, knife-through-the-neck death metal.

While we wait for Goatwhore to get back on the road, check out this great video of them at SXSW last year:
