A few years back, Chris Daly of Texas Is The Reason, Jets To Brazil, 108 and others formed the dub band High Disciple with former Lifetime guitarist Scott Saint Hilaire and Dub For Light‘s Larry DiGiovanni. After releasing a demo, they gigged with other veteran hardcore musicians/bands like Into Another, Supertouch, and Fugazi offshoot The Messthetics. Now they're set to release their self-titled debut album on June 1 via Earnest Jenning Recording Company (pre-order).

We're premiering the opening track and lead single, "Modus," which is seven-plus minutes of blissful, chilled out, instrumental dub. It's a far cry from Chris and Scott's hardcore roots, but very solid in its own right. Listen below.

High Disciple are celebrating with a release show on June 1 at Coney Island Baby, the new NYC venue in the old Brownies/HiFi space which opens this Thursday (4/26). That show is opening for another band with veteran hardcore members, Red Hare (mem Dag Nasty, Swiz, Bluetip, etc), who are releasing their new album Little Acts of Destruction in May via Dischord. Suicide Pact are on the bill as well. Tickets for that show are available.
