Hollows released 'Vulture,' touring, playing Cake Shop tonight

Chicago’s Hollows are currently making their way around the country on tour and are stopping in NYC tonight (7/3) to play Cake Shop. (They played last night at Glasslands too). The band are signed to great Chicago indie Trouble in Mind who released their new album, Vulture, earlier this year.

Where most of the label’s artists lean towards garage and punk (and garage punk), Hollows are more paisely/fringe indie with a sound driven by prominent combo organ and harmony (four of the five members sing). Early Bangles comes to mind. You can stream about half of Vulture below or listen to the whole album on Spotify. There’s also a video for “Golden Chain” below.

Tonight’s show is with Ottowa’s Boyhood which features members of White Wires and you can stream their EP below.
