Hookworms share "Static Resistance" from new LP

Hookworms will release their anticipated third album Microshift on February 2. While much of the album is in a new, dancier direction there are a couple songs on the record that hearken back to the screaming motoroik drone of Hookworms’ first two albums. One of those is “Static Resistance” which actually dates back to just after The Hum and before their Suburban Home studio was destroyed in a flood (and later rebuilt). “It’s one of only two pre-flood songs on the record,” say the band. “It’s a song about the wax and wane of depression and an eternal want to escape the life you’ve built.” You can watch the video for that, along with first single “Negative Space,” below.

Hookworms will be on tour in the UK and Europe starting in February. No North American dates have been announced — their 2015 tour was canceled at the 11th hour — but hopefully they’ll return. All dates are listed below.
