Hop Along’s Frances Quinlan celebrated her new album in Brooklyn (pics, video, setlist)

Hop Along's Frances Quinlan released her anticipated solo debut, Likewise, today (1/31), and on Thursday night (1/30) she celebrated its arrival with an intimate release show at Brooklyn's Sultan Room. Performing solo, she mixed new material with a few Hop Along favorites, admitting that she missed having the band with her. The new songs fit right in alongside the older material, all delivered in her unmistakable howling voice, and she also did a gorgeous cover of Bill Callahan's "Eid Ma Clack Shaw." Cheered back out for an encore after an all-too-brief set, she delivered a rendition of Hop Along's "How Simple" that had the whole room singing along.
