Following last week's heartbreaking news that David Roback passed away at the age of 61 from cancer, his Mazzy Star bandmate and fellow co-founder Hope Sandoval has broken her silence and posted a tribute to him on Facebook. "It’s been a few days since I lost my dear friend and I am devastated," she writes. "Thank you all for the love. 💙 Hope."

The message is accompanied by an image with a poem written out on it; you can see it below.

Many of his fellow musicians paid tribute to Roback, including fellow Paisley Underground scene artists Susanna Hoffs (of The Bangles but also Rainy Day and The Unconscious which featured Roback) and Steve Wynn (The Dream Syndicate).
