Spider Bags at Hopscotch 2011 (more by Alex Broadwell)
Spider Bags

North Carolina garage rockers Spider Bags are set to head out on a tour supporting fellow NC band Superchunk later this month, which hits NYC on September 27 and 28 at Bowery Ballroom. Both of those shows are sold out, but you'll have another chance to catch Spider Bags in NYC when they headline the smaller Cameo Gallery on September 25. Opening the show is fellow friends of Titus Andronicus Liquor Store. Tickets for the Cameo show are on sale now.

Before Spider Bags head out with Superchunk, they'll play hometown festival Hopscotch, which is currently underway. They play a free Churchkey Records day party today (9/6) at Slim's Downtown with another Titus fave The Everymen, Queens rockers The Beets (who have upcoming NYC shows) and more. Full schedule for today's party below.

Speaking of Titus Andronicus, who we just caught in Chicago, frontman Patrick Stickles recently announced that their next album would be a 30+ song rock opera, which is expected to be released in November 2014. The album is currently available for pre-order, but will be refunded "in the event of Titus Andronicus breaking up or something." Check out a video of the band playing one of its songs, "Fatal Flaw," at a recent show, below.

All Spider Bags dates are listed, along with that Titus video and a song stream from Spider Bags' 2012 LP, below...
