Horrendous released their excellent second album, Ecydysis, this past fall via Dark Descent, and they're finally coming to NYC in support of it. They'll hit Acheron on January 31 with great local support from tech-deathers Artificial Brain, the raw Throaat, and the psychedelic Kosmodemonic. It's Horrendous' first show of 2015, and at the moment it's a one-off. Tickets are on sale now.

If you haven't heard Ecydysis, it's an excellent slab of melodic death metal -- accessible but not crossing over into pop metal, full of guitar heroics, and cut down the middle with the kind of acoustic guitar interlude ("The Vermillion") that so epically opened a few certain Metallica albums.
