Hot Chip – General 2 – Ronald Dick

Hot Chip announce new LP, share "Hungry Child" video ft. Martin Starr

Hot Chip are back with their first album in three years, A Bath Full of Ecstasy, which will be out June 21 via Domino. They made it in Paris and London with producers Philippe Zdar (Cassius, Phoenix), and Rodaidh McDonald (The xx, David Byrne). The first single is “Hungry Child,” an excellent pulsing pop house track. The video might be even better and stars Martin Starr and Milana Vayntrub as a bickering couple whose passive-aggressive behavior towards each other seems to will the song into existence and it becomes an constant presence in their lives. It’s directed by Saman Kesh who has made similarly narrative videos for Basement Jaxx, !!! and others. Watch (or just stream the song) below.

The band are coming to the U.S. this month to play sold-out shows in NYC and California but they’ve just announced a full fall tour which kicks off with two more NYC shows at Brooklyn Steel on September 3 & 4. Tickets for those go on sale Friday, April 12 at 10 AM with an AmEx presale starting April 10 at 10 AM. You can also get access to a Hot Chip presale for all dates of the tour if you pre-order the album by Monday, April 8 at noon EDT.

All tour dates are listed, along with the new album’s artwork and tracklist, below.
