Hot Chip remixed Dadi Freyr's "Think About Things" (Iceland's 2020 Eurovision entry)

Icelandic artist Daði Freyr has turned over his recent single “Think About Things” — which was also Iceland’s official entry in the now-canceled 2020 Eurovision Song Contest  — over to the fine folks in Hot Chip to remix. They’ve turned his horn-filled disco jam into something decidedly more Hot Chip. How’d it come about? Say Hot Chip, “Sometimes a band just meets a real nice guy from Iceland on social media and they end up remixing their Eurovision tune and it all turns out great.”

Says Daði, “Hot Chip has been a huge influence on my music for the last ten years and a big reason for why my music sounds the way it does today.” You can listen to Hot Chip’s remix, watch the original video and his and a Eurovision performance by Daði and his band Gagnamagnið, below.

This remix comes on the day that Daði Freyr & Gagnamagnið’s were to have performed “Think About Things” in the semifinal of Eurovision, before it got canceled. In its place will be a two-hour special, Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light, on Saturday, May 16 that will feature all 41 entries from 2020 in a noncompetitive format.

Meanwhile, “Think About Things” became a viral hit, in part because of its popularity on Tik Tok.
