Hot Water Music prep new EP for Epitaph, add Saint Vitus to tour

As mentioned, Gainesville punk vets Hot Water Music are back on Epitaph for the first time since 2004’s The New What Next and releasing their new EP Shake Up The Shadows on May 24 via the label (pre-order). You can hear lead single “Rebellion Story” and see the EP artwork and tracklist below. As this single hints, the new EP is on the political side. “I think we’re living in a really volatile and terrifying time where people are turning a blind eye to the hatred that’s happening in this world and thinking of themselves rather than the big picture. I think that sentiment is present in these new songs the way it has always kind of been there in our music,” Chuck Ragan explains.

HWM have also been on a 25th anniversary tour performing Caution and No Division in full, and they just hit Brooklyn last month for two nights at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Now they announced they’ll return to Brooklyn this summer for a smaller show at Saint Vitus on June 23. No word if they’re doing a full album at this one. Tickets go on sale Friday (5/3) at 10 AM. All dates are listed below.
