Huichica Hudson still on after deaths of David Berman and Roky Erickson, but Destroyer drops off

The 2019 edition of Huichica Hudson (aka Huichica East) has had a rough go. Original headliner Roky Erickson died in May and the festival went from two days at Chaseholm Farms in Pine Plains, NY to one day at BSP Kingston. Then, yesterday, they lost their new headliner Purple Mountains with the tragic death of David Berman. The festival, now called a “Huichica Hudson Special Concert,” will go on on Saturday (8/10) at BSP, and will be in his honor. However, Dan Bejar, who was to have performed a special solo Destroyer set, “is mourning the passing of his great friend. He will need to take this time to personally mourn” and is also not playing.

The concert is now headlined by Helado Negro, and also features performances by San Francisco’s Howlin’ Rain, Mail the Horse, Garcia Peoples, Shana Falana, and Bill Mackay. Doors are at 4 PM and tickets are on sale.
