Day 2 of the 2016 Afropunk (Sunday, 8/28) featured three legendary boundary-pushing bands: Bad Brains, Fishbone and Living Colour. Some attendees may not have known that they’d be getting all three at once. Introduced by actor Jeffrey Wright, Living Colour started off the mega-jam on their own, and were then joined by Fishbone for a James Brown cover, followed by a set of Fishbone hits.  Then Bad Brains’ Dr. Know, bassist Darryl Jenifer, and drummer Earl Hudson came out, with Fishbone’s Angelo Moore, Living Colour’s Corey Glover, and The Suffers’ Kam Franklin on vocals, with LC’s Vernon Reid on guitar as well. Things finished with George Clinton joining everybody for a cover of Funkadelic’s “Cosmic Slop.” Video from the mega-jam is below.

The rest of Afropunk Day 2 was also exciting with sets from Ice Cube, Angel Haze, Young Fathers, Earl Sweatshirt, and more. Pictures of Day 2’s performers are in the gallery above.
