Ilyas Ahmed is one half of the project Visitor with Grouper, and he's also a live member of psychedelic band Grails. His latest solo album, Closer to Stranger, came out today via MIE Music, and we're premiering the video for "Sleepwalker" along with the album release. Ilyas made the album almost entirely on his own -- using various guitars and keyboards, tanpura, percussion, and his own voice -- save for some guest sax by Jonathan Sielaff (of Thrill Jockey ambient duo Golden Retriever) on "Zero For Below." It's a really nice dose of quiet, psychedelic music that fans of Ilyas' aforementioned collaborators should definitely dig. Pick the album up here and watch the new video below.
