Los Angeles duo In the Valley Below, who you may have seen opening for Tricky in 2017, have a new feature-length film titled The Pink Chateau, written and co-directed by the group's Angela Gail. The short version: "A young woman follows a beautiful stranger into the countryside. What unfolds is a series of sensual and intimate tales, set to the music of In The Valley Below." And a longer version from the press release:

A dreamlike diorama of interconnected musical vignettes inspired by vintage French erotica and the faded colors of 1970s films, each song on ‘The Pink Chateau’ serves as a portal through which the film’s enigmatic female protagonist confronts her most deep-seated desires. “It’s a story of sexual discovery and freedom from taboo,” Angela explains. “It’s a fantasy of an inviting place where female sexuality is a beautiful curiosity and not a shameful secret. Free from the story of the woman being a slut or victim if she is sexual.”

We've got the premiere of "Blue Sky Drugs" from the film which is decidedly not safe for work. Check that out, and "Rise" from the film, below.

In the Valley Below will be taking The Pink Chateau on tour of Alamo Drafthouses around the country for a "fully immersive audio and visual experience as the band performs the album/score live in front of the film." That tour kicks off tonight (4/9) at the Brooklyn Alamo Drafthouse (tickets) and also hits Minneapolis, Kansas City, Dallas, Austin, Denver and San Francisco. There are a few other non-Alamo screenings and shows as well. All dates are listed below.
