'Insecure' S3E1 had a Dawn Richard cameo, music by City Girls, Cardi B, more

The anticipated third season of Issa Rae‘s Insecure premiered on HBO last night, and as always, the episode was full of awesome music. The show featured Ravyn Lenae‘s “Sticky,” Miguel‘s “Banana Clip,” Valee‘s “Womp Womp,” Saweetie‘s “Icy Girl,” Childish Major‘s “Know Nothing,” City Girls‘ “Where The Bag At,” Cardi B‘s “Bickenhead,” TNT Tez‘s “Coca Cola,” Ty Dolla $ign‘s “So Am I,” and Radiant Children‘s “Life’s A Bitch.”

“Knew as soon as I heard Ravyn Lenae’s “Sticky,” I wanted it for our opening. So fire!,” Issa tweeted. She also said “City Girls really define this season for us” and “This Radiant Children track! So perfect!” (It’s been a big year for City Girls, who have a great new album out and whose voices are currently everywhere thanks to being sampled in Drake’s “In My Feelings.”)

The episode also featured an appearance from R&B singer Dawn Richard, who played the aspiring singer in the ridiculous pants. “Shout out to @DawnRichard for being such a good, hilarious sport!,” said Issa. “mad love to @IssaRae for hitting me up and sayin i need you to do some funny shit. best time ever,” Dawn added.

You can listen to most of the music from S3E1 in the Insecure Spotify playlist below. The S3E2 teaser is also out now and you can watch that below too.

Update: Issa Rae was also tapped to host Rihanna’s fourth annual Diamond Ball.
