There seems to be a rap-rock resurgence. Earlier we posted that Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real would be teaming with most of Rage Against the Machine for a new project called Prophets of Rage, and now comes details of Interpol's Paul Banks and Wu Tang Clan's RZA collaborative duo Banks & Steelz. The two have been working on material since 2013, with RZA saying:

When I met Paul, I recognized the New York energy he has as a music artist. We got to know each other playing chess and vibing out in the studio. Our talents connected in a unique way and we started writing songs. The outcome was something distinctively different from my previous work, yet with another layer of cool.

There will be a Banks & Steelz album out later this year via Warner Brothers, but the first single, "Love + War" is out now and features RZA's Wu bandmate Ghostface Killah. This song, at least, leans more rap than rock and you can stream it below.

A video for the song will be out on Friday (5/20) but folks in NYC can see it now at a Banks & Steelz pop-up located at 154 Orchard St (between Stanton & Rivington). There's a pop-up in LA as well. You can also catch the duo live, who have lined up appearances at festivals like FYF in Los Angeles, Life Is Beautiful in Las Vegas, and ACL in Austin. All dates are listed below.
