Jonathan Toubin‘s New York Night Train Soul Clap & Dance-Off party is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a killer show at Brooklyn club Warsaw on March 3. Instead of spinning his favorite records, Toubin is flying in some of his favorite singers who will be backed by Nick Waterhouse & The Tarots. The lineup includes Irma Thomas, Archie Bell, Maxine Brown, King Khan, David Johansen, Baby Washington, Young Jessie, and Ural Thomas (who hasn’t played NYC since 1971).

As usual, there is the dance contest with a chance to win $500, but here too it’s a little different as contestants will dance to the live grooves of Joe Bataan & His Orchestra. Tickets are on sale now.

UPDATE: They’ve added a second night of Soul Clap fun, happening Saturday, March 4 at Baby’s All Right. Nick Waterhouse & the Tarots will again be the backing band and it will feature performances by King Khan, Ural Thomas plus a full set from a “secret surprise artist.” Doors are at 10 PM for that and tickets are on sale now.

Elsewhere in Night Train world, Jonathan Toubin’s annual Valentine’s Day Planned Parenthood benefit show at Music Hall of Williamsburg features Reigning Sound, Kid Congo, Eleanor Friedberger, a Cult of Youth / Wind Atlas collaboration, SKATERS, Austin Brown (of Parquet Courts), Delicate Steve, Cassie Ramone, Gary Lucas, Frankie Rose and more. Tickets are still available.
