Iron Age announce first NYC show in 9 years (part of Hardcore Hell)
"Power Trip definitely wouldn’t be the band we are without Iron Age. Those guys are sort of like our older brothers, and showed me a lot of really good music, not just thrash metal but a lot of cool shit in general." - Powery Trip's Riley Gale
Austin crossover/thrash band Iron Age will headline a late show at Saint Vitus on Friday, August 9th as part of Hardcore Hell, the new hardcore fest taking over multiple Brooklyn venues that weekend. The band -- guitarist Chris Ulsh of Power Trip, Mammoth Grinder & Impalers included -- will be playing NYC for the first time in nine years! Also on the bill: fellow crossover band Red Death from DC, buzzy Richmond hardcore band Candy, NYC/Montreal hardcore band Stigmatism, and Philly's Grave Turner. Tickets go on sale Wednesday (5/29) at noon.
Iron Age aren't broken up, but their shows -- especially outside of TX -- are pretty rare, and it's been a minute since they released something new. Their last proper release was 2009 full-length The Sleeping Eye. Their first and only other full-length is 2006's Constant Struggle, which you can stream below.
This will be the last show announced as part of Hardcore Hell 2019. The previous announcement included Kriegshog, Skizophrenia, The Marked Men, Career Suicide, Hank Wood and the Hammerheads, Muro, Vaaska, Savageheads, Criaturas, Bugg, Haram, Game, Exit Order, Arms Race, S.H.I.T., and more.
