Iron & Wine just played two NYC shows, Town Hall on Monday (11/13) and Brooklyn Steel last night (11/14), on his latest tour behind this year's Beast Epic. The new album is Sam Beam's first Iron & Wine album on Sub Pop since 2007's The Shepherd's Dog and it's a return to the kind of bare-bones songwriting that he was doing in his early Sub Pop days. We caught the Brooklyn Steel show, where Sam was in great spirits and cracking jokes all nights. We didn't get the exact setlist for the NYC shows, but he mixed things up pretty well on this tour, playing a good mix of new and old. Pictures of the Brooklyn Steel show (including openers OHMME) are in the gallery above.
