Jack White‘s new album, Boarding House Reach, is out this Friday (3/23) and he recently shared “Ice Station Zebra,” from it. It’s jazzy, has Jack rapping on it, and actually came from a planned collaboration with Jay-Z that never materialized. He talked about the song on Lars Ulrich’s Beats 1 radio show, saying “That was something I played drums, piano, guitar, and bass on as an idea for him to maybe spur him on to inspire him and do something.” Listen to the song, plus some of Jack and Lars’ conversation (including his decision to make his tour “camera free“), below.

Jack will celebrate the new album with a very intimate release show at Brooklyn’s Warsaw on Friday (3/23) and if you didn’t get tickets, the show will be livestreamed via Twitter at 10 PM Eastern.

Jack will be back in NYC for Governors Ball.
