Jackson MacIntosh streaming solo debut, touring, playing "Beer Mansion" in NYC w/ EZTV, Widowspeak & more

Jackson MacIntosh of Montreal groups Sheer Agony and TOPS releases his solo debut, My Dark Side, this Friday (3/2) via Sinderlyn. Not dissimilar to the ’60s-baroque-meets-’80s-mutant-pop vibe of Sheer Agony, Jackson’s definitely a little more in ’70s Solo Artist mode here, mellow, occasionally groovy, and most definitely tuneful. You can stream the whole record via Hype Machine below.

Jackson be playing shows in Los Angeles and NYC later this year, including a record release show at Brooklyn’s Union Pool on March 23 (tickets). He’ll be back later in the spring from Brooklyn Brewery’s Beer Mansion, a three-day music-and-beer fest on April 14 & 14 at Weylin in Williamsburg (aka the old Williamsburgh Savings Bank on Broadway). They’re calling it a “spectacle of beer, music, food and absurdity” with the live music lineup curated by Captured Tracks: EZTV and Lina Tullgren play Friday 4/13, and Jackson and Robert Earl Thomas play Saturday (4/14) in the day with Widowspeak and Dinner playing at night. Tickets, which include beer tastings, are on sale now.

Jackson’s Los Angeles shows include March 8 at The Lodge Room with Drugdealer featuring Weyes Blood (tickets), and March 14 at Zebulon with Mega Bog (tickets).
