Back in 2018, Merge Records signed a “mysterious” artist called Jade Hairpins, and though the members of the band remained secret for a while, you may have noticed that Fucked Up had a song credited to Jade Hairpins, so it seemed likely that somehow they were involved. Well, today Jade Hairpins are officially coming clean about their identities, and it is in fact a collaborative project from Fucked Up members Jonah Falco and Mike Haliechuk. The duo made it official on Instagram, writing, “We’re a few familiar faces making some new music, and we couldn’t be more excited to debut this band officially!”

Jonah and Mike will make their live debut as Jade Hairpins with a run of UK shows beginning next week, with support from UK-based bands Nation Unrest, Basic Dicks, and High Vis. The duo are promising new music for 2020, so stay tuned for that.

You can view all tour dates, and revisit Jade Hairpins’ 2018 singles “Mother Man” and “Gracefully,” below.
