James Blake brought out Moses Sumney and Connan Mockasin at his first of two US shows

Hot on the heels of his great somewhat-surprise LP The Colour in Anything, James Blake announced two small (for his standards) US shows, which both of course quickly sold out.

The first show happened last night (5/16) at LA’s Belasco Theatre where Blake brought out Moses Sumney and Connan Mockasin (who opened the show). They both joined him for the new album’s title track, and then Moses came back out for set-closer “Modern Soul.” The set was mostly songs off the new album, but James also made time for older faves such as “The Wilhelm Scream,” “Retrograde,” “Voyeur” and “Life Round Here.” Check out videos of the Moses/Connan collabs, followed by more clips, pictures and the full setlist:

James’ other US show is at NYC’s Webster Hall on Wednesday (5/18) and, again, that’s sold out.
