James Blake shares new song, "Are You Even Real?"

Earlier this week, James Blake teased a new track by tweeting out a 20-second audio excerpt using Twitter’s new audio feature. Today, that track, another one-off single called “Are You Even Real?,” was released. It came to fruition, at home, and in-studio (Pulse Studios in Burbank, CA and Electric Lady in New York City), with the help of Starrah and Ali Tamposi. See the full credits below.

This single is the follow-up to his April release “You’re Too Precious,” which was the first new music he’d released since his 2019 album Assume Form.

Additionally, Blake recently contributed back-up vocals and piano to “Come Back,” a collaboration with Mustafa.

Blake has also been releasing sporadic quarantine covers covers, including renditions of tracks by Stevie Wonder, Joy Division, Radiohead, and others. Most recently, he covered Nirvana‘s “Come As You Are,” which you can watch below.
