James Hunter releases new album 'Hold On!' on Daptone, touring (dates & new video)

British R&B/soul singer James Hunter has been at it since his 1996 debut album …Believe What I Say, and now he’s signed to Daptone Records, who released his new album Hold On! today. With his raspy voice and a sound that hearkens right back to this genre’s classic era, the new album fits right in on the label. We’ve got the premiere of the video for the sorta-title track, “(Baby) Hold On.” Check it out, and stream the whole album via Spotify, below.

James and his band, The James Hunter Six, will support the album on a tour that includes a NYC show on March 1 at City Winery. Tickets for that show are on sale now. All dates are listed below.
