Still on the heels of his funky, maximalist R&B new self titled album, Jamie Lidell will be returning to NYC for his second time this year, this week. His tour has him arriving at Le Poisson Rouge tonight (8/1), his first of three shows in the area. Tonight’s show is being opened by indie folk/hip hop mixer Emily Wells and DJ Shiftee. Tickets are still available.

Tonight will be his most intimate one, but if intimacy is less important to you than saving money, on Friday (8/2) at Prospect Park he plays a big, free Celebrate Brooklyn! show that also includes Baltimore weirdo Dan Deacon and Stones Throw-signed soul trio The Stepkids. Doors open at 6:30 PM and show starts at 7:30.

Then, a little farther out from NYC, Jamie plays one more free show on Saturday (8/3) at The Surf Lodge in the Hamptons. Doors open at 5 PM for this one.

These are his last three North American dates before two European festivals he plays later this month. All dates are listed, along with a stream of “What A Shame” from the new album, below…
