The Janelle James Comedy Festival returned for its second year over the weekend, bringing three nights of comedy to Brooklyn's Bell House 12/5-12/7. Janelle hosted night one, "Comedians That Don't Owe Me Money," which featured performances from Ilana Glazer (Broad City), Chloé Hilliard (Social Misfit podcast), Abi Sanchez (Laugh Factory Chicago), Kristen Toomey, (I'm Upset! podcast) and Daniel Simonsen. Night two, "A Black Ass Show with Open Mike Eagle and Baron Vaughn, was hosted by The New Negroes' hosts, and included appearances from Kevin Iso (Adam Devine’s House Party), Yassir Lester (Girls, The Carmicheal Show, Showtime’s Black Monday), Janelle, and Hadiyah Robinson (Comedy Central, BET).

Night three, "Comedians Who Flewed Out," had sets from The Lucas Brothers (Lucas Bros. Moving Co., Friends of the People), Ayo Edebiri (Time Out NY‘s Top Comics To Watch in 2019), Jaboukie Young-White (The Daily Show, Big Mouth, American Vandal), Casey Balsham (Not Another True Crime Podcast), and Ethan Simmons-Patterson, with Sydnee Washington and Marie Faustin hosting.
