Janelle Monae announces new album/film, ‘Dirty Computer’
In time since Janelle Monae released her last album, 2013's The Electric Lady, she starred in two Oscar-nominated and one Oscar-winning films (Moonlight and Hidden Figures). Now she's combining her music and film talents with the new project Dirty Computer. She's calling it an "emotion picture," which she defines as "a narrative film and accompanying musical album." No release date for the album has been announced yet, but the film portion will screen in select theaters before screenings of Black Panther (which is out now). You can watch the trailer, which stars Janelle alongside Tessa Thompson (Veronica Mars, Westworld, etc), above.
