Janelle Monae headlining Bustle event in Prospect Park

Women’s blog Bustle is throwing its inaugural “Rule Breakers” event with live music at Brooklyn’s Lefrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park on September 22. Headlining is Janelle Monae, and there will also be a performances by Sofi Tukker, DJ Samantha Ronson, and more.

“Rule Breakers is a day of music, food and experiences that celebrate living life on YOUR terms. Presented by Bustle, the event will feature performances from top female artists alongside highly-curated activations from the brands you know and love,” reads the event page.

Tickets go on sale Friday (8/10), but meanwhile you can enter to win tickets, and there’s a grand prize option that also includes roundtrip travel vouchers to NYC, hotel accommodation vouchers, and more.

One week after Rule Breakers, Janelle Monae also plays Global Citizen Festival in Central Park. She’ll be in NYC even sooner for Afropunk Brooklyn.
