Japanese Breakfast has been playing shows this year and just landed in NYC last night (6/24) for a big, free SummerStage at Central Park show. She played her recently released single "Essentially" and the new song "In Hell" that she began playing live this year, plus plenty of earlier favorites and her cover of The Cranberries' "Dreams." Main member Michelle Zauner and her band also had a larger lineup than usual, with a string section and some horns. The show was opened by Hatchie, which made for a great, well-matched double bill, and there were limited edition, numbered posters (700 total) just for this show distributed to audience members as they entered. Pictures of both JB and Hatchie are in the gallery above and you can see JB's setlist and some videos below.

JB will be back in the tristate area for NJ's XPoNential Music Festival in July. The rest of her upcoming tour schedule is below.

Hatchie, who released her debut album Keepsake three days before the show (6/21), has now added a headlining NYC show to her late summer/fall tour: September 4 at Rough Trade with Orchin. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (6/28) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (6/26) at noon. Updated dates are listed below.
